There are antioxidants in all teas-white, green, oolong and black. The anti-oxidants are the strongest in the teas with the least amount of processing, such as white and green tea, which have fewer oxidation processes during production. However, oolong and black tea still maintains healthy amounts of antioxidants, and have a bolder flavor, making them preferred for drinking.
In Chinese teas, oolong has a taste similar to green tea but lacks the grass underlying flavor. It lacks the rosier, sweet aroma of black tea, and thus falls in between the combination of the two. It is usually brewed to be strong, and has a slight bitterness with a sweeter aftertaste.
There are several varieties of oolong tea that are primarily produced in the Wuyi Mountains of northern Fujian and the central mountains of Taiwan. The teas are rolled into long, curly leaves or pressed into ball shapes.
The name oolong is a Chinese phrase meaning black dragon tea. According to Chinese Qing dynasty poems, oolong tea first existed in the Wuyi Mountains, and was named after the area it came from.
There are several processes that the oolong tea goes through, primarily cooling, bruising of the leaves for oxidation, roasting and aging benefit oolong tea. Are there antioxidants in oolong tea? There are antioxidants in all oolong tea, but the amount varies on the amount of roasting, aging and oxidizing.
Oolong tea offers many benefits through the anti-oxidants, and many people drink 5 to 6 cups per day, especially in Asian countries. The anti-oxidants help cell regeneration, and fights toxins in your system. Oolong tea is also good to drink for weight loss, and the processing makes it lighter on your stomach than black tea. It makes you feel fuller and gives you additional energy boosts while boosting metabolism and burning more calories.
The Chinese culture has used oolong tea for centuries for its healing abilities and anti-aging properties. It is usually steeped, not boiled and the leaves can be reused multiple times, unlike green teas, and it gets better each time.
In Chinese tea culture, oolong teas are made with high-grade tealeaves, which are moderately fermented, making them neutral and lower in caffeine. They are considered excellent for lowering blood pressure and losing weight. Fermented teas are also good for the digestive system, are an anti-diarrheic and help relieve menstrual cramps.
Are the antioxidants in oolong tea? There are vitamins, A, B, C, E and K, which all have antioxidant effects, such as slowing down the aging process, boosting the immune system, and speeding up metabolism. The Chinese believe that oolong tea is healing in several ways:
o Increases energy while having a calming and relaxing effect
